Complus Privacy Policy

Welcome to the Complus Group, Inc. (“Complus”) Site. This privacy policy explains our and our affiliate’s online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used by Complus Group when you access our Sites and applications, including www.complusdata.com, www.parkingticketpayment.com, www.buymypermit.com, www.trafficpayment.com, www.thepaymentgroup.com or Complus’s mobile applications that facilitate parking payment processing and enforcement (collectively the “Site”). This privacy policy does not apply to the use of personal information by third parties whose websites or systems may be linked to our Site or who collect information from you through our Site, such as any municipal or other governmental authorities responsible for parking permits and/or parking tickets.

By visiting the Site, you agree to this Privacy Policy, as it may be amended from time to time.

  1. PERSONAL INFORMATION COLLECTED

Complus receives certain personal and other information from third party sources, including departments of motor vehicles and other governmental agencies, in order to support our payments and parking management services. We also collect personal information directly from you in various ways, including when you visit or use our Site, use our online services, create an account with us on certain account-based sites, participate in our social media communities, and when you contact us or send us feedback. 

The personal information we collect includes:

User profile and contact information: During the account registration process or otherwise during your use of our Site, you may provide us personal information such as your, name, email address, home address, phone number, license plate number, vehicle identification number (VIN), make and model of your vehicle, payment information, utility information or other data relevant to the particular Complus payment service you are using, and you may create a username and password.

User content: We may collect information that you submit when you contact Complus user support, or otherwise contact Complus. This may include your name, email address, and phone number, and any other information submitted during your use of our Site.

Location Information: Depending on the Complus Site that you use, and your device settings or permissions, we may collect location information, including information about parking locations over time, as well as your precise geolocation (GPS) information through application settings on your personal device.

Site Information and Tracking Technologies: The Site may use a standard technology called a “cookie” to collect information about how you use the Site. “Cookies” are small text files that may be placed on your web browser when you visit our Site. You can disable cookies on your device. If you opt not to accept cookies, you may not be able to benefit from the full features of our Site. The Site may also collect information on site usage for analytics purposes, such as how often users visit this Site, what pages they visit when they do so, and what other Sites they used prior to coming to this Site. We use the information to improve our Site.

  1. USES OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We may use your personal information for multiple internal and external purposes, including but not limited to:

  • To provide you with the service on the Sites and manage your relationship and/or account with Complus;
  • to respond to your requests and communicate with you about Site upgrades or other account information;
  • to administer Complus’s Site, systems and for Site troubleshooting purposes;
  • to analyze Site usage and improve our products and services;
  • for new product development
  • to send you marketing communications about Complus sites and services, as well as other products and services we believe may be of interest to you;
  • to otherwise facilitate our business operations and needs and/or comply with law.
  • USE AND DISCLOSURE OF COLLECTED PERSONAL INFORMATION

Third Party Service Providers, Agents, Contractors, or Partners: We may share personal information with our third party service providers, agents, contractors, or partners in connection with services that these individuals or entities perform for, or in collaboration with Complus. These service providers, agents, contractors, or partners are restricted from using this data in any way other than to provide services for Complus or in partnership with Complus in servicing you.

With Third Party Business Partners, Including Governmental Agencies: Our Sites often facilitate information sharing with third parties, including municipal or other governmental agencies, to provide the services. This may include sharing information about your payment for a parking permit with the local agency that manages parking permits. Please remember that Complus is not responsible for the data practices of these third parties and/or governmental agencies. Moreover, your account information on our Sites is not a record maintained by those third parties or governmental agencies. If you need to update your information with any governmental authority, you should contact them directly.

As Required by Law or to Protect Our Rights and Interests or for the Protection of Others: We may disclose information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, such as to respond to a subpoena or similar legal process, to protect against misuse of our Site, to protect or enforce our rights and interests or to protect the rights, property, or safety of other users of our Site or the public, and to otherwise cooperate with law enforcement or regulatory authorities.

Business Transfers: We may transfer or share a copy of personal information about you in the event of a business reorganization or transition, such as a merger, acquisition, or the sale of all or a portion of Complus’s assets.

California Privacy Rights: Under California Civil Code sections 1798.83-1798.84, California residents are entitled to ask us for a notice describing what categories of personal customer information we share with third parties or corporate affiliates for those third parties or corporate affiliates’ direct marketing purposes. We do not share your personal information with third parties or corporate affiliates for their direct marketing purposes.

  1. YOUR CHOICES

Certain information must be provided in order to use our services. If you have created an online account with us, you may review and update your account information, or cancel or close your accounts at any time by visiting your account settings or by contacting us at the addresses below.

You may also restrict certain information collection, such as GPS data, through the applications settings for location based services in your smart phone.

Our Sites use cookies and other tracking technologies. You may be able to manage how your browser handles cookies by adjusting your browser’s privacy or security settings. If you set your browser to reject cookies, please note that you may not be able to access certain features on our Sites. We do not honor web browser “Do Not Track” signals.

If you no longer wish to receive promotional or informational emails from us, you may opt-out from receiving future emails from us by following the instructions for unsubscribing in the promotional or informational emails we send you or by contacting us at the addresses below.

If you have opted into receiving text-messages, and no longer wish to receive SMS messages, you may opt-out from receiving future SMS messages by following the instructions for unsubscribing in the texts we send you or by contacting us at the email address or phone number below. Please note that even if you opt-out of receiving future marketing communications from us, we may still contact you about your account or any products or services you have purchased from us, and we will still respond to your inquiries or requests for information.

Please note that any information you choose to provide in a public setting, such as on our social network pages, is not only provided to Complus but may also be shared publicly.

  1. DATA QUALITY, STORAGE, AND ACCESS

While we make every effort to ensure that all information we hold about you is accurate, complete and up to date, you can help us by promptly notifying us if there are any changes to your personal information. Please remember that Complus is not responsible for the data practices of third parties and/or governmental entities. Moreover, your account information on our Sites is not a record maintained by third parties or governmental entities. If you need to update your information with any governmental entity, you should contact them directly.

We store personal information for different periods of time consistent with the purposes for which they were originally collected, as subsequently further authorized, or when required or allowed under applicable law. 

  1. USE IN THE UNITED STATES

Our Site is intended for use in and by individuals located in the United States. Personal information collected from you, including via the Site, will be transferred to Complus in the United States where this Site is hosted, and may also be stored in Complus’s data centers located outside of the United States. You hereby consent to the transfer of your personal information to the United States or to other locations where Complus may store and manage information in connection with its Sites. Please do not use our Site if you do not agree to the transfer and processing of your personal information by Complus as described in this privacy policy or if it is illegal to do so in your home country.

  • INFORMATION SECURITY: PROTECTING YOUR PRIVACV

Complus is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of your personal information. While we implement security measures to help safeguard your data, no security system is impenetrable. We cannot guarantee the security of our servers or databases, nor can we guarantee that information you supply will not be intercepted while being transmitted to us over the Internet. Please use caution any time you provide information over the Internet. Also, you must take steps to select a complex password and not share your log in credentials. If you suspect that your account has been accessed or used by an unauthorized person, please contact us immediately.

  • CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

The Site is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 and in the event that we learn that a child under the age of 13 has provided information on our Site, we will delete that information as soon as possible.

  1. CHANGES TO POLICY

We may amend, alter, or otherwise change this Privacy Policy at our sole discretion. The revised policy will be effective immediately upon posting to the Site. Further use of our Site following the update of this Policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
